About John C. Verret, CEO
John Verret has more than thirty-five years of marketing communications experience in the areas of consumer products and services, and business-to-business advertising. He also has extensive experience in advertising agency management, having held the positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman, President CEO, Executive Vice President COO and Senior Vice President. He was a partner, President, and co-owner of Arnold Communications (now Arnold WorldWide) until he sold his interest in the company in 1996.
His background includes work for Arnold, Ingalls, Quinn & Johnson, and Hill Holliday Connors Cosmopulos-all in Boston . His clients have included McDonald’s Restaurants, Volkswagen of America, Fleet Financial Group, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Nissan Automobile Dealer Groups, TJ Maxx Stores, Westin Hotels, Boston Edison Co., Wang Laboratories, Carling-O’Keefe Breweries, MasterCard, and Bombardier Ski-Doo. His management responsibilities included the training of employees in client service and presentation skills techniques.
Mr. Verret is currently the President of Verret & Associates, and an Associate Professor at Boston University’s College of Communication. He is an accomplished public speaker who has informed and entertained audiences throughout the United States .
Mr. Verret is a volunteer consultant to a number of non-profit and charitable organizations in the Greater Boston area. He has served as Chairman of the 4-A’s New England Board of Governors, President of The Ad Club of Boston, Trustee of the Ad Club Foundation, President of the New England Broadcasting Association, and as a member of the Board of Governors of the New England Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He has also served on numerous boards of directors and advisory boards for various professional and community organizations. Mr. Verret was named Executive of the Year by ADWEEK magazine in 1990. He is a graduate of St. Michael’s College in Vermont . He and his wife Meg live in Sharon , Mass. where they raised their two sons.
